On this occasion, Viber has recently launched Bangla New Year chatbot. This has been informed in a press release from the company.

According to the press release, Pahela Boishakh or Bangla New Year is the first day of the Bangla calendar and one of the biggest festivals of Bangladeshis. All Bangalis irrespective of religion, caste, and creed celebrate this day on 14th April with the aim of respecting the Bangali tradition. On this day Bangalis celebrate the day by remembering their traditions and culture. However, the resurgence of coronavirus infections this year has caused controversy over Bangla New Year's celebrations.

Considering the current situation this festive season, Viber has transformed their local desi bot into a ‘Happy Bangla New Year chatbot’. This allows users to send greeting messages and play scratch and win games.

David She, senior director of Rakuten Viber Appacer, said: No matter what the situation, we believe in Viber so that people can communicate with their friends and family. This year, due to various restrictions, the Bangla New Year may be celebrated in a limited way. But we can understand the significance of this day and the passion of Bangalis associated with this festival. For this, we have launched a new chatbot to boost the festive mood of Bangladeshi users. In addition to sending greetings, Viber users will be able to win attractive prizes by participating. Prizes include V / O coupons, paid sticker packs, 2 smartphones, and 5 Bluetooth speakers. Users will be able to play this scratch and win game till April 20.
