Kolkata Knight Riders started winning in IPL. Eoin Morgan and Shakib Al Hasan got off to a good start by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by 10 runs in their first match.
They were bowled out for 16 for five against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday night. In this IPL, Shakib started with a victory of 10 runs.
Harbhajan Singh took the ball in the first over to derail Hyderabad. The Indian spinner could have taken the wicket in the fourth ball. But David Warner's shot points Pat Cummins' hand to the ground. The captain could not make the life he got with zero runs. In the next over, Dinesh Karthik was caught behind the famous Krishna bounce for just 3 runs.
Shakib took the ball in his hand in the third over. Riddhiman Sahar (6) hit a six in the first over, signaling a great start, hitting the bat, and hitting the stumps. Shakib took the wicket with the first ball back in IPL. He gave only 1 run in that over.
After losing 2 wickets for 10 runs, Hyderabad turned around with the bat of Johnny Bairstow and Manish Pandey. They made 92 runs from 8 balls on the third wicket. Bairstow hit fifty off 32 balls. Andre Russell dismissed Vijay Shankar (11) in the 18th over. 36 runs were needed in the last 2 overs. Naman Abdul Samad made 22 runs in one over in the 19th over in two sixes.
Russell bottled Samad and Manish in the last over. In that over, 11 runs were scored by two batsmen, 6 by Maren Manish in the last ball, 2 fours, and 3 sixes in 44 balls. Samad was playing for 19 runs.
Famous for taking a maximum of 2 wickets for Kolkata. Shakib took one wicket for 34 runs in 4 overs. Harbhajan and Cummins got an equal number of wickets.
Earlier, two-time IPL champions Kolkata scored 17 runs for 6 wickets in Nitish's great batting.
Bhubaneswar Kumar started with four in the first over. Then Sandeep Sharma hit five boundaries off six balls in two overs. Nitish was in Marquette from start to finish. Despite being dismissed by the umpire on Rashid Khan's lbw request, he took the review from the pinnacle of confidence, and the right-handed batsman, who saved himself by 40 runs, hit the first six off 36 balls, including six fours.

Samad caught Morgan (2) in the next ball. Karthik cut and deprived Nabi of a hat trick.
Shakib was at the crease with Karthik till the last ball. Bangladesh's left-arm batsman did not get a chance to play more balls at number seven. Karthik, who was at the other end, played. Shakib fell victim to Bhubaneswar with the last ball. He was caught by Samad for 3 off 5 balls. Karthik was unbeaten on 22 off 9 balls. Afghan spinners Rashid and Nabi are the best bowlers for Hyderabad with two wickets each.
